Eight tutorials on 3d paintover techniques.
This week, ending 10/17/2015, we are sharing some really cool tutorials that show the process of using 3D for concept art and illustration.
Concept artists seem to use 3d paintover as a new norm, and this is something that seems to be almost be a requirement in the industry. 3D models are used in order to visualize and create quick mock ups that will ultimately be painted over and result in a 2D illustration. It is a great way to speed up the workflow when you may have to view designs from different angles. For some concept artists it is a way to pass up the baton to the new person over, like a modeler in the production pipeline. Since we have not touch much on the topic of 3D for concept art and design, here are a few 3d paintover videos that show how each artist uses 3D as a tool. Enjoy!
